Privacy policy
Video Editor: Trim & Cut
This Privacy Policy explains how Video Editor: Trim & Cut ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information when you use the App on your iOS device. We built the App to work locally on your device, and we designed it to collect as little information as possible.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not require you to create an account. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your photos or videos — all editing happens locally on your device
- Your contacts, messages, or location
2. Photo Library Access
The App requests access to your photo library only so you can select videos to edit and save the edited results back to your library. This access is controlled entirely by you through iOS permissions, and you can change it at any time in your device Settings. The App does not read, index, or transmit your library contents in the background.
3. Third-Party Services and Automatically Collected Data
The App uses trusted third-party services for advertising, analytics, and marketing measurement. These services may automatically collect certain information from your device, including:
- Device information (model, operating system version, language)
- General (coarse) location inferred from IP address
- Advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt
- App usage and interaction data (screens viewed, features used, session length)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) and diagnostic information
- Install and campaign attribution data (which advertisement led you to install the App)
The third-party services used by the App are:
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses advertising data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Each of these services processes data under its own privacy policy, linked above. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
4. App Tracking Transparency
On iOS, the App will ask for your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites, in accordance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the App and its advertising partners will not access your device's advertising identifier, and you may see less personalized ads. The App remains fully functional regardless of your choice.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Google Firebase to collect aggregated analytics and crash reports — for example, which features are used most, how long sessions last, and technical details when the App crashes. This information helps us fix bugs and improve the App. It is not used to personally identify you.
5A. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App may offer optional in-app purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock premium features. All payments are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID account. We never see, collect, or store your payment card details or billing information. Purchase records are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your App Store account settings. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
7. Data Retention
Because the App does not collect personal data on our servers, we have no personal data of yours to retain. Data collected by third-party advertising partners is retained according to their own policies, referenced above.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR in the European Union or the CCPA/CPRA in California), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and the right to opt out of personalized advertising. Because we do not hold personal data about you, most of these rights can be exercised directly through your device settings:
- Limit ad tracking: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Reset or manage the advertising identifier: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Manage photo library access: Settings → Video Editor: Trim & Cut
For requests relating to data held by our advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta), please refer to the resources linked in Section 3. You can also manage your ad preferences directly with Google at adssettings.google.com and with Meta in your Facebook account's Ad Preferences. You may also contact us using the details below and we will assist where we can.
9. Security
Since your media never leaves your device through the App, the primary safeguard of your content is your own device security. For any data handled by third-party services, those services apply their own industry-standard security measures.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
